Robert Cypher is an experienced trial attorney, having tried over 100 cases to verdict in the course of his 38-year career. His trial experience includes matters of general liability, lead paint, asbestos, medical malpractice, criminal law, professional liability, and military law.
He has briefed and argued multiple appeals before the Appellate Division of the First and Second Departments of the New York State Supreme Court, and the New York Court of Appeals. His reported appellate cases include Duran v. Ardee Associates and Roddy v. Nederlander, et al.
He is a retired United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate, and has tried multiple courts-martial and administrative boards. He has supervised aircraft mishap investigations, and lectured on the law of armed conflict. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal.
He is a former Rye, New York, City Councilman, and currently serves as a Rye City Court Judge. He has taught at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, teaching a course entitled “Moral, Legal and Ethical Dilemmas, a Course of Inquiry for Veterans and Others.”
